The report triggered an engaging discussion among all the participants. After the seminar, Chinese experts Cheng Jingye, Li Chijiang and Zhao Xuelin were interviewed respectively by Chinese and foreign press including Xinhua News Agency, Russia Today and Itar Tass News Agency.

The report was jointly written by CACDA, CINIS and CENESS. It is the first time that Chinese and Russian Think Tanks released the joint report on AUKUS Submarine Deal. The report indicates that the AUKUS nuclear submarine deal would be the first time nuclear-weapon States transfer tons of weapon-grade highly enriched uranium (HEU) to a non-nuclear-weapon State, which goes against the objective and spirit of the NPT. The report gives a detailed analysis on the negative impact of AUKUS deal, including the risks and challenges to the authority and effectiveness of the nuclear non-proliferation regime, the safeguards system, the global and regional security. The report urges the international community to steadily advance an open, inclusive, transparent and sustainable inter-governmental discussion process to seek solutions by consensus.
