On August 30, 2023, Additional Secretary of the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs Mohammad Kamran Akhtar, led a delegation to visit the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association (CACDA) and discussed with experts from the association. President Zhang Yan attended the meeting and delivered a speech. Secretary General Li Chijiang presided over the meeting. Officials from the Pakistani Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Pakistani Embassy in Beijing, scholars from the China Institute of International Studies (CIIS), Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China and other institutes participated in the meeting. Both sides had in-depth exchanges of views on the New Agenda for Peace of the UN Secretary-General, international arms control hot issues and China-Pakistan think tank cooperation.
