On September 27, 2023, the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association held a seminar with fellows of the 2023 United Nations Programme of Fellowships on Disarmament during their visit to China. Secretary General Li Chijiang presided over the meeting. Scholars from China Institutes of Contemporary International Relations, China Institute of International Studies, Beijing Institute of Technology and other institutes delivered keynote speeches on outer space security governance, Arms Trade Treaty, cyber and artificial intelligence governance, and had in-depth interactions with the participants. Young diplomats from 24 countries, including Germany, South Africa, Mexico and the Philippines, attended the seminar. Kolarov, the official of the United Nations Office for Disarmament Affairs, expressed his sincere thanks to CACDA for hosting the seminar, believing that it has strengthened the understanding of China’s policies on arms control, disarmament and nuclear non-proliferation for the fellows, and UNODA is willing to continue to maintain exchanges and cooperation with CACDA.
