On August 14, 2025, Ms. Izumi Nakamitsu, UN Under-Secretary-General and High Representative for Disarmament Affairs, visited the China Arms Control and Disarmament Association (CACDA) and held roundtable discussion with experts from the CACDA. Ambassador Cheng Jingye, President of CACDA, chaired the meeting. Attendees included Amb. Wu Haitao, former Chinese Ambassador to Spain and Ambassador for Disarmament Affairs, and scholars and experts from the Center for Strategic Studies at the China Academy of Engineering Physics, Fudan University and Beijing Institute of Technology.

During the discussion, both sides exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.
